Challenge

Remote sites with weak connectivity and a workforce used to paper processes. We co-designed forms with field supervisors and supported fully offline operation with conflict resolution on sync.

Approach

Intrinsically safe tablets run an offline-capable app for permit-to-work (hot work, confined space, isolation certificates), operator rounds with readings and photos, and shift handover logs. Permits check for conflicting simultaneous operations and require isolations to be confirmed before approval. Readings sync with the historian and CMMS when connectivity is available. A control room dashboard shows active permits, overdue inspections and safety observations on a site map.
